Train Holidays Set to Rise

The year 2011 will see more travelers opting for "selective austerity" in their holidays, it has been predicted.

TrainTickets is  forecasting a rise in holidays by train, with the number of travellers inquiring about rail journeys rising 20 per cent year on year.

Such trips are popular with what the company calls the "journey junky" who is addicted to slower travel and savours the journey as part of the overall holiday experience.
